Your journey is unique - so should be your care

Together, we’ll restore strength, confidence, and independence so you can live fully at every stage of life.

About Me

I became an occupational therapist because I have always been fascinated with the body’s ability to adapt, heal, and thrive even after a serious injury or illness. I am grateful to have been mentored by occupational, physical, and speech therapists at the top of their field and in academic and research settings. My passion for combining the latest evidenced based and individualized interventions drives my practice and inspires me to help my clients reach their full potential. I like to think of each person being their own unique puzzle, and it is my job to help them put their own pieces together.

Here's what some of my clients have to say about my services:

“After my stroke, I couldn’t walk or use my right hand to do basic activities. I was worried I would never get back to doing the things I love. Barbara met me where I was at, while challenging and pushing me with compassion. Because of her help, I can now go hiking with my grandchildren again.”

“My dad never wanted to work with therapists because he didn’t want to be pushed into a nursing home. Barbara gave us home modification strategies along with an activity and exercise program that improved his balance, strength, and overall mood. I am so grateful she understood his goals while making sure he was safe at the same time.”

“Barbara has a way of making her sessions engaging, meaningful, and most importantly- fun!” “I learned how to be an advocate in my own care when working with Barbara. She went above and beyond to provide top notch care while also connecting me with other providers I needed.” “Culturally sensitive care was really important to me and my mother- Barbara provided this by asking thoughtful questions and really listening.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Own Your Moment Therapy offers in-home occupational therapy services for clients who prefer the comfort and convenience of being seen at home. We bring all the necessary equipment and tailor each session to your environment, helping you build skills and confidence where you use them most—right at home. Our in-home visits are available throughout the Seattle Eastside area. If you’re not sure whether we serve your neighborhood, just reach out and we’ll be happy to let you know.
No doctor’s referral is needed to begin therapy at Own Your Moment Therapy if you’re paying privately. You can contact us directly to schedule an appointment—no prescription or referral required. If you plan to submit a superbill to your insurance for possible reimbursement, your insurance company may require a doctor’s order for occupational therapy. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm their policy.
Own Your Moment Therapy is a private pay, out-of-network practice, which means we don’t bill insurance companies directly. Many clients, however, can get partial reimbursement from their insurance for out-of-network occupational therapy services. After each session, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.
A superbill is a special receipt that lists the details of your therapy sessions, including treatment codes and provider information. You can send this form to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse part of your costs for out-of-network care.
You can call your insurance provider and ask the following questions: • Do I have out-of-network benefits for occupational therapy? • What percentage of the fee will be reimbursed? • Is a doctor’s referral or prescription required? • Where do I send the superbill? We’re happy to guide you through what to ask if you’re unsure where to start.
You don’t need a referral to start therapy with Own Your Moment Therapy. You can contact us directly to schedule an appointment. If your doctor, specialist, or another healthcare provider would like to refer you, they can send us your information or a referral form—whatever is easiest for you.
